Sra. Paternina – Spanish 106 - School year 2007/08

Spanish 106 is a course designed for those who have previously gone through SP 105. We are using ¡Exprésate! A program from Holt, which includes textbook and two workbooks, as well as a text integrated videodisc program. We learn oral and written skills so that the students are able to communicate with each other in Spanish. Skits, projects, games and other activities are all part of this class in addition to oral and written tests. We will try to conduct the class in Spanish as much as possible. Relax and have fun!

·        Asking ¿cuánto? and answer with mucho and poco.

·        Singular and plural nouns and adjectives.

·        Pronouns using them after prepositions.

·        Verb gustar with infinitives.

·        Present tense of querer with infinitives.

·        Ir + infinitive expressing future action.

·        The verb form hay .

·        Verb ir a + place expressing destination.

·        Verb jugar a + activity.   

·        Negative words like tampoco, nadie, nunca y nada.

·        Using the verb venir a + time

·        Present tense: regular –ar –er and –ir verbs.

·        Possessive adjectives.

·        Stem changing verbs o = ue.

·        Stem changing verbs e = ie.

·        Tag questions.

·        Responding in the infinitive.

·        Responding in the negative.

·        Verbs with irregular yo form.

A test is conducted by the end of every half lesson.

Tests and quizzes are elaborated from the ¡Exprésate! Testing program, as well as from other divers sources used by the teachers.
