Sra. Paternina – Spanish 105 – School year 2007/08

Spanish 105 is a course designed for those who have not had previously any Spanish and therefore they all start at the same level. We are using ¡Exprésate! A program from Holt, which includes textbook and two workbooks, as well as a text integrated videodisc program. We learn oral and written skills so that the students are able to communicate with each other in Spanish. Skits, projects, games and other activities are all part of this class in addition to oral and written quizzes and tests. We will try to conduct the class in Spanish as much as possible. Assessment and testing:

A test is conducted by the end of every half lesson.

Tests and quizzes are elaborated from the ¡Exprésate! Testing program, as well as from other divers sources used by the teachers.

• Trimester grades are calculated as follows:

40%:  Tests

20%:  Oral Test

20%:   Homework - Very important; need of consistency and sincere effort.

20%:   Class participation - Very important; need of consistency and sincere effort.
