EXPERIENCE:

 

Founding Head – Religion & Philosophy Dept. (July 2004 – present)                          Brunswick School, Greenwich, CT

Led effort to include Religion and Philosophy program in our Upper School curriculum.  Courses (so far 8 in total) have ranged from Introduction to Philosophy to Great Religious Leaders of our Time.  Responsibilities also include teaching 9th grade World Cultures, advising seven 10th graders, coaching 9th grade Football and sub-Varsity Hockey and assisting with the school’s Community Service Prog.

 

Head of Middle School (June 94 – June 2004)                                                                  Brunswick School, Greenwich, CT

Responsible for administering all boys middle school for 270 students grades 5-8.  Duties include scheduling, faculty & staff hiring and supervision, curriculum oversight, parent liaison, discipline, admissions, publicity, managing school budget, long range planning including key role in designing and building new middle school and athletic facility on 104 acre campus, teaching history and coaching football, hockey & lacrosse.

 

Director – Oxford Prep Program (July 2005 – present)                                         Corpus Christi College, Oxford, UK

Administered coed academic and cultural enrichment program for 153 students, grades 8-10 from the US, Canada, the Philippines, Puerto Rico and Taiwan.  Supervised a faculty of 15, all Oxford graduates, from 8 different countries, and a staff of 9.                                         

 

Teacher - Administrator - Coach – Advisor  (Sept. 1987-June 1994 )                             Brunswick School, Greenwich, CT

Taught history grades 9-12.  Dean & Advisor, grades 9-11.  Director, Community Service Program.  Head V. Hockey and J.V. Lacrosse Coach.  Dir., summer enrichment program for minority students grades 6-8.

Taught inner-city youths, ages 12-17, in program funded by Boston Juvenile Court.  Counseled individuals and groups extensively.

Taught history, English, religion and writing to grades eight through thirteen in Jesuit founded Catholic school.  Founded and coached school's first basketball team.  Directed high school equivalency program in men's medium security prison in Kingston.

TRAVEL:  In addition to annual trips to Oxford, UK every summer to direct Oxford Prep (see above), have led student service trips to Jamaica (1990 & 1993) and Kentucky (1992).  Lived and worked in Kingston, Jamaica, WI from 1982-1984.  Chaperoned student trip to Rome, Italy, Spring of 2004. Traveled through Europe during summer of 1982.  

 

INTERESTS:  The joys of parenting my five children (ages 8-16).  Involvement in St John The Evangelist, Roman Catholic parish, Stamford, CT, including religious instruction to boys and girls preparing for first Confession and First Communion.  Reading, Kayaking, Fly-Fishing, Sailing, Hiking, Camping, Cross Country Skiing, Basic Woodworking, Bicycling and playing Golf & Tennis.
